Space is limited Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit Course 08:00 AM - 5:00 PM 800-1100 Classroom 1100-1200 Lunch 1200-1700 Range This 9 hour class meets all requirements set forth by the Nevada Sheriff and Chiefs Association to obtain a Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit. (Course may be offered in split sessions, check course calendar.)     Topic: 3 Weapon Workshop Prerequisites: You must have either attended a Primer, a Pistol Fundamentals, or our Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit Course prior to attendance to this Foundry Session. It is also encouraged that you have either attended both an Introduction to Defensive Shotgun, and an Introduction to Defensive Rifle course. Description: During this session we will do a quick refresher on the operation of all 3 weapon systems (Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun) and then move into skill drills designed for the challenge stages to follow. We will challenge your balance of speed vs. accuracy, manipulations, and movement with each system. Exercises: Shooting with movement Shooting on the move Shooting moving targets Loadout: Pistol: 100-150 rounds Shotgun: 50-75 Bird, 20 Slug Rifle: 75-100 rounds Multiple weapons systems encouraged (Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol) If you do not have your own, rental weapons are available.     Topic: Introduction to Defensive Shotgun Prerequisites: No Prerequisite Required Description: We begin with discussing some features that are desirable in defensive shotgun selection, such as slings, shell carriers, and optics. Moving into loading and unloading and ammunition management we will cover tactical, emergency, shell select reloads as well as malfunction clearances. (Primer session precedes this Foundry session.) Description: Fast misses don't win gunfights!!! Speed is fine but accuracy is final. This session will focus on the elements of speed and accuracy. From the goal of a perfect presentation, the difference between point shooting, target focus shooting, and sighted shooting for varying degrees of accuracy based upon distance and opportunity. Exercises: Perfect presentation Mastering the 3 Secrets of Marksmanship Sight acquistion Sight discipline Recoil management Loadout: 150-200 rounds (Primary) Multiple weapons systems are allowed however the focus of the session will be on Pistol from the holster Concealment garments are encouraged

    Topic: Use of Cover vs. Concealment Prerequisites: You must have either attended a Primer, a Pistol Fundamentals, or our Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit Course prior to attendance to this Foundry Session. Description: During this session we will identify the differences between Cover and Concealment, discuss and apply various shooting positions used to maximum your ability to effectively use what is available to you, practice barricaded and supported positions, and much more. Description: Stance is a luxury not often afford to you in a gunfight, move! During this session we will be covering the fundamentals of movement. Understanding the balance of speed and accuracy in marksmanship when it is applied to movement in varying directions and distances.
