    Topic: Introduction to Defensive Shotgun Prerequisites: None Description: Building upon the lessons learned in our previous session 4/25/2018, and 6/20/18, this session we will begin focusing on adding movement to our positions, shooting on the move, rapid target transitions, and moving targets.     Topic: 3 Weapon Workshop Prerequisites: You must have either attended a Primer, a Pistol Fundamentals, or our Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit Course prior to attendance to this Foundry Session. It is also encouraged that you have either attended both an Introduction to Defensive Shotgun, and an Introduction to Defensive Rifle course. Description: During this session we will be cover the use of all three weapon systems and the differences that exist when clearing structures. Understanding distance, body posture when clearing corners and utilizing cover and concealment, patterning and penetration considerations. Exercises: Movement throughout structures Cornering (Slicing the pie) Multiple weapon system transitions for safety and efficiency Loadout: Pistol: 100-150 rounds Shotgun: 50-75 Bird, 20 Slug Rifle: 75-100 rounds Multiple weapons systems encouraged (Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol) If you do not have your own, rental weapons are available. Topic: Close Contact Engagement Prerequisites: You must have either attended a Primer, a Pistol Fundamentals, or our Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit Course prior to attendance to this Foundry Session. (Primer session precedes this Foundry session.) Description: In this session we will be focusing on gun fights that can occur at arms length because your gunfight might start with a fight for your gun. We will cover protecting yourself long enough to access your weapon, as well as protecting your firearm from another's attempt to gain access to it. Exercises: Body reference or Point shooting positions Defensive guards Striking Gaining distance Weapons retention techniques Weapon disarms Loadout: 150-200 rounds (Primary) Multiple weapons systems are allowed however the focus of the session will be on Pistol from the holster Concealment garments are encouraged

    CANCELLED DUE TO PROJECTED HIGH WINDS Topic: Live Fire and Force on Force Shoot House (Live Fire portion will proceed the Non-Lethal Force on Force portion. Training guns and ammunition will be provided by ADAPT, protective equipment is required.) Prerequisites: You must have either attended a Primer, a Pistol Fundamentals, or our Nevada Concealed Firearms Permit Course prior to attendance to this Foundry Session. (Primer session precedes this Foundry session.) Description: Building upon our use of Cover and Concealment, and Shooting on the move sessions, we will be tasking the Students to employ good critical decision making as they are faced with multiple scenarios that can occur inside their home or other enclosed structures. From stumbling upon a robbery in progress to a violent home invasion and more Exercises: Introduction to critical decision making as a "solo practitioner" or "buddy team tactics" Movement: Evasion, Escape, Engagement Communication: Verbal and non verbal. Challenge, Command, Control. Door and Hallway positions (Avoiding the fatal funnel) Limited penetration entry vs. Dynamic entry Designated sectors of fire Loadout: 150-200 rounds (Primary) Multiple weapons systems are allowed however the Force on Force component will consist of Pistol and Shotgun only. Description: During this session we will build upon previous skill sets learned in earlier sessions. We will revisit the ability to identify the differences between Cover and Concealment, discuss and apply various shooting positions used to maximum your ability to effectively use what is available to you, practice barricaded and supported positions, and much more.
