This exercise is one of the most important drills you can learn and one you should do every time to start your training regiment. Focusing on the fundamentals is the key to growth and measured success.
This exercise puts together the following skill sets.
- Grip (established on the weapon in the holster)
- Presentation from the Holster
- Sight acquisition
- Sight alignment
- Sight picture
- Trigger control
- Removing the slack
- Smooth press to a "surprise break"
- Trapping the trigger in recoil
- Resetting on your sights for accurate follow up shot (follow through)
