40 hours (4 hour blocks over 10 spaced days of training)
Students will study the use of the body as a defensive weapon. This system of verbal and physical defense techniques was designed for maximum effectiveness with minimal output, using whatever force necessary to stop the aggressor.

The specific techniques and applications are focused on the most probable scenarios or threat situations that the applicant might encounter in their professional careers, and day to day life.

Topics Covered:
Threat level assessment Verbal conflict negotiation Defensive tactics- Movement, interception, evasion, counters, blocks, and striking Physical force applications- Joint locks, chokes Weapons retention, and disarms.
Required gear:
Comfortable clothing (stretching or ripping of fabric may occur) Mouth-guard Eye protection (Will be provided if you do not have your own) Sport footwear
Recommended gear:
Water bottle Personal towel Weapon specific gear (duty rig, holsters, magazine pouches, etc)
*No real firearms, Tasers, blades or batons will be used during this course. We encourage students to provide their own gear specific training simulator or we have Glock 17 training simulators for use.
